R-S Bellco Members Care

R-S Bellco Members Care was created in the winter of 2008 to put a face on the philanthropic and community outreach efforts of the credit union.  The first Members Care event was the annual fundraiser leading up to the R-S Bellco annual meeting of members which raised $1,000 for the Beaver County Women’s Shelter.  Since then the annual fundraiser has raised $13,450 benefitting over a dozen organizations including the Soup Kitchen at Christ Episcopal Church in New Brighton, Beaver County Humane Society and Beaver County United Way.

The R-S Bellco Members Care Scholarship was introduced in 2010.  Funding for the scholarship comes primarily from in-office candy sales and the semi-annual bake sales, which have become big hits.  Over the first five years, our members have made it possible for the program to award 23 scholarships for a total of $13,500.

Scholarships are available to student members pursuing education after high school.  We offer a traditional scholarship based on academic achievement, extra-curricular activity, community involvement and an essay.  We also offer a scholarship aimed at supporting those pursing vocational training or associates program. Additional scholarship opportunities available through the Beaver Valley Chapter of Credit Unions. Click here to see current scholarship opportunities.

R-S Bellco Members Care is also active in supporting those working in our community to improve circumstances of the less fortunate by gathering food and non-perishables around Thanksgiving for the Food Bank and for the New Brighton Community Life Committee Christmas Food Drive.
